Information

Important

Sweet Potatoes like it hot, in fact it is difficult in our climate to overheat them.

We recommend that all Sweet Potatoes are planted through a black plastic mulch (which will keep the soil temperature high) and if possible grown under a plastic tunnel (to keep the air temperature high).

The Kootenay Local Agricultural Society has a guide to growing Sweet Potatoes in our area. We recommend that your download it and read it from their web site.

Sweet Potato Slips

Sweet potatoes are one of those crops that taste much better if you grow them your selves. They are not difficult to grow, but they love heat - so they will produce much better if grown under black plastic mulch and under a remay of plastic tunnel over the bed.

We recommend that you download and read the two Guide son the right.

The shipping charge for Slips is $ 3.95 - they cannot be sent with any other item as they will be heavily damaged.

All plants are supplied as bunches of 5 slips (rooted cuttings) for planting in the field / garden on or around 15th May - which is the target planting date for our region.
