Long straight pencil podded type. Dark green, stringless and prolific. Particularly good for freezing. A lovely, elegant variety bred in Europe, producing exquisite smooth pencil pods of dark green, around 8” long, on bushy, compact plants which need no support through the season. Dwarf or Bush Beans

Bush beans growing in the field.

Dwarf or Bush Beans are a relatively new addition for us to the farm. There is no doubt that Pole Beans taste better and give much higher yields than Bush Beans - but because we occasionally run our of canes for our trellis system, we then have to use Bush Beans.

It makes sense for us to maintain and select the best Bush Beans that we can find to maximize the yield for the farm. Our main selection criteria is taste followed closely by yield.

These 2 varieties are the best tasting and highest yielding yet - but we have another 6 that we are still playing with - some of which may be added in future years.
